Van der Gulik Tulpen BV

Van der Gulik Tulips BV from De Goorn started 75 years ago.

The company is now managed by Marcel and Jeroen and works with a team of 15 employees. The forcing plant produces 15 million stems, intended for the heavier and exclusive segment. There are 35 different types of tulips being forged from January to mid-June and from September to mid-December. 60% are traditionally produced on potting soil and 40% on water.

The cultivation outside comprises 42 hectares divided over 25 hectares in the Netherlands, 1 hectare in France and 16 hectares in Chile.

The company also has an interest in Southern Tulips Spa. This Chilean company grows tulip bulbs and exports them to countries including China, America, Mexico and Europe. In China, Van der Gulik still participates via Oriëntal Tulips BV in a tulip growing company for local production there.

In recent years, the company has been busy producing in a more sustainable way. They have invested in a new modern green-label greenhouse with a basin for water collection. In the coming years, solar panels will be installed and the company will use a heat pump for heating and drying the greenhouses.
